And the last record I grabbed from Deathwish’s Black Friday sale. I LOVE Earthless. But I’m generally not a big fan of live albums. I’ll make an exception for an hour and a half of psych metal. Earthless sounds like Mastodon or Baroness plus Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix. And with no vocals. It RULES. I jam their record Rhythms From A Cosmic Sky A LOT. So I’ll deal with some crowd noise and nonsense for more jamming metal.

Record #2 from my Deathwish Black Friday package. I’ve been listening to this off and on since it dropped over the summer. I decided to grab it as I didn’t want to miss this generation’s Shape Of Punk To Come or something equally influential. The instruments are pretty buried on the mix for this record while the vocals are very high. I think I’d enjoy it more if they were closer together. The drums could definitely snap more.
Any of you lucky UK bastards get to see End Of A Year with Tigers Jaw at the end of this year. Really jealous.

Got my Deathwish Black Friday package today. I saved 30% of some jams, so I’m kind of glad I slept on the things I did. Got them for cheaper. This here is the new Killing The Dream record. Great hardcore with some varying vocals, some clean, some harsh. I’m really into it. The MP3s didn’t wow me, but I’m really glad I took a chance on the wax. Already spun this one twice. And I’ll be doing so again after I go through the next two I got.

Yes, my second copy of this album. But can you blame me? Not only does this record and packaging look amazing, but every time I listen to this I’m reminded of how passionate this record feels. Sometimes I feel like bands are just phoning it in, trying to make it to tomorrow and earn a buck while they’re at it. This record destroys that notion. Not to mention it destroys everything else surrounding it. My neighbors probably hate me right now for playing this. No care ever.
