Mail: Thrice - Identity Crisis

Thrice | Identity Crisis | Black | /100 | Blue | /400

Looks like I’ll be sending Matt from Animal Style Records some VooDoo Doughnuts next week.

Mail: Minus The Bear - OMNI

Minus The Bear | OMNI | “Deluxe” edition AB: Red marble | CD: White | 180 gram

This record is a hell of a lot better than I anticipated. I’m still not big on “My Time” but “The Thief” more than makes up for it.

Mail: Converge - You Fail Me

Converge | You Fail Me | Clear/White Cross | hand screen printed cover by Jacob Bannon | /101

Sometimes insomnia pays off. Apparently Deathwish had a box of the long out of print You Fail Me record laying around. But they didn’t have corresponding sleeves. So Jake screened some up (101 to be exact) and last week they threw them up in the webstore as a surprise. It was about 7:30 AM here on the West Coast when they went up. Luckily I’m not very good at sleeping, paired with a slight internet addiction and I was lucky enough to score one before they sold out in minutes. Look how sexy it is! Mmmmm

Mail: Mono: holy shit

Mono | Holy Ground: NYC Live w/ The Wordless Music Orchestra | Translucent Red/Opaque Red/Black mix | w/ DVD | /500

View it ginormous - http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2679/4540789123_0b7de8390c_o.jpg

What a beast. Holy Jesus. 3xLP AND a DVD? Only Temporary Residence Limited can get that right. Especially for $30. If you’re not listening to Mono, you should change that today. Their recorded music is beautiful and amazing. But their live show is literally a life changing experience.

Mail: Giant Squid

Giant Squid | The Ichthyologist | AB: Marbled Dark Green | CD: Marbled Orange | hand numbered | #12/103

I pre-ordered this in August of 2009. It showed up yesterday: April 20, 2010. Due to many unfortunate test press errors, poor Jordan of Vega Vinyl kept having to push this release back further and further. Atleast he’s dedicated to his craft and making sure the music he puts out is as perfect as can be.

Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm

I visited the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm with wife yesterday. We didn’t really fit in, but that was no matter. We tiptoed through the tulips and laughed at obnoxious children and ridiculous parents. AND we pet a Corgi. It was a good day.

Waffle Window

Jenni introduced me to possibly the best breakfast in Portland - The Waffle Window. Thick, heavy delicious hot waffles covered in whatever you want. Sweet or savory. So far I’ve ordered the same thing on both of our visits to the Waffle Window: Nutella & strawberries.
